Dr. Cynthia Tsien, MDCM, MPH, FRCPC, is the Education Director at the Soham & Shaila Ajmera Family Transplant Centre. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at McGill University. She underwent training in hepatology, transplant hepatology, and research at the Toronto General Hospital and Cleveland Clinic. She obtained a Master in Public Health at the John Hopkins University. She specializes in the care of patients with liver disease pre- and post-transplant. Her research interests include sarcopenia, portal hypertension, and education.

Dr. Scott Fung completed Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at the University of Toronto and Hepatology training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is currently appointed as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and is a hepatologist at University Health Network and Sinai Health System. He is the Site Director for Gastroenterology & Hepatology education at Toronto General Hospital, GI Educational Coordinator for internal medicine trainees and Education Director for the Toronto Center for Liver Disease. Dr. Fung is also a member of the Education Committee for the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver and the American Association for the Study of the Liver Disease. He is a volunteer for the GI Examination Board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr Fung’s clinical interests include the epidemiology and treatment of chronic viral hepatitis and metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). He has co-authored numerous manuscripts in high impact peer reviewed journals and has served as guest editor for hepatology and general medicine journals. He is a co-founder and steering committee member of the Canadian Hepatitis B Network and co-author of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver guidelines on the Management of Chronic Hepatitis B infection.

Dr. David K. H. Wong, MD, FRCP(C), specializes in Hepatitis B, Alpha-1-Antitrypsin and liver diseases in those living with HIV. He has been recognized by the University of Toronto, Department of Medicine in 2019 as a Master Clinician for consistently outstanding clinical performance and the highest standard of patient care.

Dr. Fernanda Onofrio, MD, MSc, PhD (Brazil) is a Staff Hepatologist at Toronto Centre for Liver Disease, Francis Family Liver Clinic and specializes in the care of patients with Alcohol-related liver disease, MASLD, cirrhosis and its complications.

Dr. Morven Cunningham completed medical training at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK. She undertook a PhD at Queen Mary, University of London, before completing a Fellowship in Hepatology at University of Toronto. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and Staff Hepatologist at Toronto Centre for Liver Disease.

Dr. Gideon Hirschfield, holder of the Lily and Terry Horner Chair in Autoimmune Liver Disease Research, is an internationally trained clinician scientist focused on liver disease. With education and practice at the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, London, Birmingham, and Toronto, he aims to develop effective, personalized therapies for autoimmune and rare liver diseases (PBC, PSC, AIH, IgG4 disease, PFIC syndromes). He is globally recognized as a leader in liver medicine and a patient-centered clinician with over 20 years of experience in tertiary Hepatology care, including post liver transplant management. Dr. Hirschfield has published over 400 papers and is a respected speaker and educator in Hepatology.
